George Benjamin Guest at Composers' Club

The Barenboim-Said Akademie is delighted to present George Benjamin as the next guest of the Barenboim-Said Akademie's "Composers' Club" on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018, at 1:00 pm.

Student of Olivier Messiaen’s in the 1970s, George Benjamin has written three large operas, many pieces for symphony and chamber orchestra, as well as chamber music and solo works. Benjamin is a celebrated composer, conductor and Henry Purcell Professor of Composition at the King’s college in London. He was made a Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2015 and was knighted in the 2017 Birthday Honours.

These series of seminars and talks, eminent composers are presented and/or invited to present their music, and are also available for questions.

The "Composers' Club" is an initiative of Prof. Stephan Winkler, professor of Music Theory and Composition at the Barenboim-Said Akademie.
