Barenboim-Said Akademie receives the Abu Dhabi Festival Award 2019

The Barenboim-Said Akademie has received the Abu Dhabi Festival Award “for its commitment to building bridges through arts and culture” in the course of this year’s celebration of the annual arts and cultural festival. The award was received by Mariam C. Said, vice-president of the Barenboim-Said Foundation and widow of Edward W. Said, who travelled to Abu Dhabi in honour of this occasion.

The bestowal was presented by H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and H.E. Huda I. Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder and and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival. Among the other winners were Aurélie Dupont, Dance Director at The Paris Opera Ballet, American Mezzo-Soprano Joyce DiDonato and the late Ousha Bint Khalifa Al Sweidi.
