For more than 70 million refugees around the world, fleeing misery and persecution is the only way to find security and make a new beginning for themselves. Together with the Barenboim-Said Akademie, the UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe, the German partner organization of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, celebrates its 40th anniversary with a view to the future rather than a look back: as a milestone on the path toward a societal approach that brings together humanitarian help, long-term development goals, and international solidarity. For this special occasion, Daniel Barenboim will perform piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe.
