Behrang Noipour was born and raised in Tehran (Iran). He studied Persian Music at the University of Arts Tehran, and Music Theory and Piano with an emphasis on music pedagogy and didactics in Osnabrück and Berlin (Diploma), receiving the Bernward-Clasen-Verein and DAAD scholarship. He was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium to study for a Master’s degree in Historical and Contemporary Compositional Techniques with Prof. Jürgen Ganzer and Prof. Jörg Mainka at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.

Since 2003 he has been working as a composer, choir conductor and lecturer of music theory at a range of institutions such as the University of Arts Tehran, Institut for music pedagogy at the Hochschule Osnabrück, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, Music faculty at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus and Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. In 2005 he founded the chamber choir ensemble "Concordia" in Tehran, which he conducted and performed with at several concerts.

His specialities in music theory include various subjects like harmony, counterpoint, ear training and sight singing, instrumentation, form and analysis. With a teaching approach based on historically-informed music theory, Noipour places a high value on learning all music theory disciplines through literature.
